INTRODUCE 紹介する
To introduce a person to someone they're meeting for the first time is to tell
the second person the first person's name.
The noun form is introduction.
introduce とは、初対面の人同士を紹介する、という意味で、introduce A to
B で、AをBに紹介する、という意味になります。
名詞形は introduction で、紹介、という意味です。
1.a: Who's that in the red dress?
b: She works in the creative department. Would you like me to introduce you?
2.(after a few minutes of small talk at a party)
a: I'm sorry. I haven't introduced myself. I'm Toshio Suzuki.
b: I'm William Anderson. It's nice to meet you.
3.(to two acquaintances at a party)
a: Have you two met?
b: Yes, we were just introduced.
4.Terry introduced me to his business partner. He's exactly as I imagined him.
5.(to a new recruit on his first day at the office)
Let me introduce you to the rest of the office staff.
6.(planning an event)
I'll make the introductions as the presenters come up on stage.
7.(at a meeting)
Would you mind doing the introductions? I see some new faces here today.
