Position Description
Chef (full time)
Company Name: Moon's Sushi Shellharbour (Emmario Pty Ltd)
Work Type: Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week
Salary: $54000 - $58000 + super of 10.5%
Location: 30 Addison Street, Shellhabour NSW 2529, Australia
Reporting to:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Developing a variety of menu items that cater to customers with food allergies and diet restrictions.
- Checking the freezer and refrigerator prior to each shift to verify the correct temperatures.
- Selecting fresh fruits and vegetables to make high-quality dishes
- Slicing, filleting, and marinating different types of fish, beef, and chicken
- Applying proper cutting techniques, piece count, packaging, and labeling standards.
- Managing food prep activities, like boiling rice, making sauces and crumbs for topping
- Properly displaying and arranging the visual presentation of products in trays and cases.
- Checking and marking the date for all the ingredients and making the order list
- Checking all ingredients before cooking, use the FIFO method for cooking ingredient.
- Coordinating with wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
- Maintaining a high volume of customer service but also able to multitask in a busy environment.
- Training new staff as requested, making sure new staff understand the dishes, food safety, and follow the recipe.
- Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and related outlets
- Liaising with restaurant employees regarding the availability of menu items, additions to the menu, and any relevant changes
- Delegating duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met
Salary:
$54000 - $58000 + super of 10.5%
Qualifications and Experience requirements
- Advanced diploma or cert 4 in cookery
- At least 2 years exp working in a busy commercial kitchen enviroment
- Food safety certificate
- Experience with pans, deep fried, cutting skill and read dockets
- Good in knowing how to meet the requirement of the customers and fulfill them in the best way to make them happy.
